Mother Blames Internet for Teen Having Gone Missing

When a 15-year-old girl was found, her mom urged parents keep their kids off the Internet. We’ve heard the world is a dangerous place, but more and more parents are saying the same about the Internet.

After missing for four days, the 15-year-old was found and in tears while speaking on the phone, her mom was in front of news cameras, when she learned that her daughter was safe and in police custody.

With applause from concerned community members in the background, her mom looked into the camera and pleaded with parents, saying “Please do not allow your child on the Internet, do not allow it.” Read the story.

Predators and Pedophiles

The number of predators and pedophiles in the world today is shockingly high and because of the technological world that we live in, they often go unseen for years upon years before they act out on their perverted ways. The world in which we live in today has never been so advanced and this, unfortunately, gives predators and pedophiles an extraordinary amount of images and videos of unsuspecting children.

The amount of images and videos that these pedophiles are finding on websites such as Facebook is truly disturbing. Many people don’t realize how easy it is to access their pictures and videos as their privacy may be set to very low without them knowing. This allows predators and pedophiles to search the internet for what they want and they will even share these pictures with other mentally sick people.

OSA Investigates Somebody's Daughter ~ Julian Sher

It should be noted that pedophilia is recognized as a mental disorder that may be treated; if the pedophile understand what they are doing is wrong and unacceptable. Other times pedophiles are just simply evil and disturbed people.

It is important to make sure that you are extremely careful with what you share online as you never know who may see it.

www.nsopw.gov

NSOPW is the only government system that exists to link public state, territory, and tribal sex offender registries from one national search site. Parents, employers, and other concerned residents can utilize the Website’s search tool as a safety resource to identify location information on sex offenders residing, working, and attending school not only in their own neighborhoods but in other nearby states and communities as well. In addition, the Website assists citizens with learning the facts about sexual abuse and how to protect themselves and loved ones from potential victimization.

The FBI estimates that one in three girls and one in five boys will be victims of sex crimes.

I know its is a very hard subject to talk about…. but, we have a 3 part of this story for an actual victim, here is link:
