BullyCide is the term given to the act of suicide as a result of bullying. There has been a huge increase in the amount of people taking their own lives as a result of being bullied. As people are much more reachable then they were in the past, thanks to social media and the online world in general, it is much easier for bullies to target their victims. The unfair advantage that online interaction gives the bully is the fact that they can pretend to be someone else or appear anonymous.

Did you know that suicide is the third leading cause of death amongst the youth of our society? Many of these kids, teenagers and adults are feeling the effects that being bullied can cause to a person physical and mental wellbeing. Studies have found that up to a half of the suicides related to young people have a direct relation to bullying.

Often times, you may not see and know that a person is being bullied as they will hide it a lot of the time. If you suspect that your friend, child or a member of your family is being bullied, you should let them know that it is not their fault and give them a person to talk to.

It is when people get bullied so much, with no release, that they will do something horrible like commit suicide. Be there for a friend or family member and you could be saving their life.
